Description
Rhythm and percussion is the pulse of traditional tropical music of Latin America – particularly Cumbia and merengue – which are the most popular musical genres in the Bajo Lempa. The children who start to learn at our music centres love playing percussion and, perhaps not surprisingly, drumsticks which don’t only beat the skins of drums but also the rims and cymbals, take a lot of punishment. They wear out very quickly. Your £5 donation can help to pay for a new set of drumsticks that will enable the Music for Hope bands of the Bajo Lempa to continue to keep time and beat out the tropical rhythms.
With this purchase you receive a gift card with artwork drawn by our students.
