Description
Violins are familiar instruments in the traditional folk music of the communities. The famous band from the 1980s, Los Torogoces del Morazán entertained the Liberated Zones during the civil war with a violin as one of its key sounds. They’re also very portable when our young musicians do musical walkabouts and serenade families in their houses as part of their fundraising activities. A significant problem, though, is that in the high temperatures and humidity of the coastal region close to the lower Lempa River, natural materials such as wood and horse hair deteriorate very quickly. Inevitably violin bows need replacing regularly. Your £20 can help the young musicians of Music for Hope continue to bring joy to their communities with their musical serenades as they walk from house to house playing cumbias and corridos.
With this purchase you receive an ecard with artwork drawn by our students.
